Research Interests: I am interested in primarily pulmonary infectious diseases. Specifically, I have interests in tuberculosis and non-tuberculous lung disease. Given the huge burden of the HIV/TB pandemic and my international experience and interests, I have interest in HIV lung disease. This has evolved into my primary research project on the immune reconsitution syndrome, with a focus on the mycobacterial precipitants of the disease. My pursuit of a MPH degree at UNC Chapel Hill has resulted in additional research interests in HIV pulmonary mediicine, including the burden of tobacco related disesase in HIV positive patients.
