Duke University Hospital (Duke North)
 
 
 
Duke University Hospital (Duke North) is a tertiary medical center and phase I trauma unit that serves North Carolina and surrounding states. The hospital has a total of 900 beds with planning underway for another hospital tower. The Nephrology Division has a Dialysis Unit within Duke University Hospital.
 
 

Duke South Hospital
 
     
 
 
Duke Clinic (Duke South) was the original hospital at Duke and is now home to clinics and faculty offices.
 
 

Durham VA Medical Center
 
 
 
The Durham VA Medical Center is located directly across the street from Duke University Hospital. Faculty members who supervise at the VA are also Duke faculty members. There is a busy outpatient program in addition to providing consultation services to the inpatients.
 
 

Davita and Fresenius Duke Dialysis Units
 
The Division of Nephrology provides medical supervision of dialysis therapy provided through five privately operated units in Durham and surrounding counties.
 
These units are not part of Duke University; four are owned by the Davita and co-managed by the Duke Division of Nephrology.
 
The units are located in:
 
  • Henderson, NC
  • Downtown Durham, on Fayetteville St.
  • Durham, on Western Park Place
  • Roxboro, NC
  • Louisburg, NC
 
A sixth outpatient facility is owned by Fresenius Medical Care and is located in Warrenton, North Carolina, approximately 60 miles north of Durham.
